Damoose sworn in as 37th District state senator

LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. John Damoose was formally sworn in as senator for the 37th District on Wednesday during a ceremony at the state Capitol.

“It is a great honor to stand on the Senate floor and take this oath on behalf of the hardworking people of the 37th District,” said Damoose, R-Harbor Springs. “I’m ready to get to work serving Northern Michigan and Upper Peninsula families and businesses and continue fighting to make Michigan a better place to put down roots and raise a family.”

Damoose was joined at Wednesday’s ceremony by friends and family as Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Elizabeth T. Clement administered the oath of office.

Michigan’s 37th Senate District includes Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet, Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties and parts of Mackinac and Chippewa counties.
